USB PORT
This port is used for short range communication to a laptop or PC for the purpose of setting configurations, parameters (which are not available on the keyboard) and identification text. Of course, the port has full functionality, but its purpose is supervisory due to its short distance.
BLUETOOTH
The Bluetooth option 2 ports can be used to transmit data to a central computer or laptop. Both parts have a special Mobile Phone Interface which can be used with a phone (Apple/Android) to retrieve vital statistics or temperature curves. The mobile interface can't change parameters or delete results; it is a convenient "window" into the calorimeter operation. It is vital for maintenance and supervisory functions.
LIMS SUPPORT
The calorimeters have multiple result output formats, depending on the LIMS data required. The output result data can either be retrieved via a computer (USB or RS232) or printer in a comma separated format (CSV). Data is transmitted either solicited or un-solicited. With various supplied software packages the calorimeter result data is easily exported in a spread sheet format, allowing for very flexible data retrieval and management.
Applicable To: CAL3K-AP , CAL3K-A , CAL3K-F , CAL3K-S , CAL3K-ST
FACTORY TESTING
The unit is tested in the factory for adhering to specific check limits. The passing of these and date and time are logged. Then the electronics are burned at elevated temperature for a minimum of 24 hours and retested twice more. All these dates are logged. This is not the user field test. The test data is readable, but otherwise not accessible.
FIRING VOLTAGE SETTING
The firing voltage can be set to suit the operation. A too high firing voltage burns the firing wire and a too low voltage results in a misfire. The Firing Voltage is influenced by the filling pressure : Higher filling pressure demands a higher firing voltage.
HARDWARE CALIBRATION
Temperature sensors need calibration. This is performed in the factory against a temperature standard. The temperature calibration is accessible via the USB port.
HELP
If the calorimeter comes to a point which requires operator action then subject help is available relating to the present state. This is a very convenient way to find what the problem is. The same help is available for each keyboard command.
RESULT STORAGE
Depending on the unit, up to 1000 results can be stored in memory. Retrieval is possible from mobile devices and all ports (USB, RS232). The stored result includes all associated data relating to the determination and the temperature curve. Once the results are transmitted they can be "reinstated" via supplied software. Results are deleted after a month.
MAINTENANCE
The units have 2/3 fields for Service related information. These fields (Name and telephone number) are available on the mobile application. The setting of these is done via the USB port. Once a problem is identified by testing the hardware then the maintenance/service can be phoned with this problem already identified. The subject help gives information for fixing the problem and/or the severity.
VESSEL INSPECTION LIMITS
The vessel has a settable inspection warning limit and a "stop operation" limit. The operator is warned in advance when the vessel needs inspection. The inspection is carried out by trained personnel and if mechanical deterioration is detected then the vessel must be sent to the manufacturer for inspection and testing.
ACCEPTABLE COMBUSTION TEMPERATURE RISE
The acceptable combustion temperature rise is monitored after firing. The acceptable temperature rise can be set via the USB port ir disabled. The CAL3K system warns the operator if the HIGH or LOW rise limits are exceeded.
LOGGING
Vital operations and keyboard actions are logged in a 3000+ event memory. The time and date and, if applicable, the variable are logged. The logging applies to testing and normal operation. The logging is available on mobile devices and on all ports. The CAL3K PC software allows proper analysis and clearing of events. 63 different events are logged.
VESSELS PER CALORIMETER
The amount of vessels per calorimeter is unlimited. However, each vessel must be calibrated.
INSTALLATION
The unit is shipped with the "USER TEST FIELD" enabled. After installation this test runs and the completion is logged as installation completed. The operator is prompted every power up or ABORT to perform the hardware test.
SERVICEABILITY
Anyone can get to the root of a problem with a couple of keystrokes by running the field test. The result is automatically logged. The problem, and possible solution is explained. If the problem can't be fixed without help then the telephone numbers (3 numbers) are available to call the next service agent . Of course he likes to know what the problem is so that he can come prepared and/or give the correct advice. For this reason every condition has a number attached, and the display references are structured in a logical fashion.
OPERATING MODES
The CAL3K-AP has 4 operating modes: Dynamic, Adiabatic, Isothermal, Experimental. Each mode can be operated from a default setting and the default setting can be transferred to the experimental mode. The experimental mode allows different parameters to be set via the USB interface.
REMOTE ACCESS
The CAL3K can be setup and controlled remotely via TEAM or ANYDESK and the internet. This is convenient for trouble shooting, remote training and setup. The remote PC software (supplied) copies the units screen to the PC and to the remote location.
Applicable To : CAL3K-AP , CAL3K-A , CAL3K-F, CAL3K-S , CAL3K-ST
QUICK RELEASE VESSEL
The new CAL3K_4 vessel has quick release( and close) thread. This allows for 3 times faster closing and opening and reduces operator fatigue. It aids in the heat transfer from the lid to the vessel body where the temperature sensors are located. This reduces the temperature equalization time and results in a shorter determination.
