CAL3K-A OXYGEN BOMB CALORIMETER

The CAL3K-A has all the features of the CAL3K-AP, but avoids the potential trouble of leaking oxygen valves and fittings, and the associated maintenance. It is slightly faster than the CAL3K-AP and shares the same look. It can be operated in the Dynamic (Isoperibol), Isothermal, Adiabatic and Experimental modes, but requires calibration in each mode.

 

This new instrument, from the engineers who developed the CAL2K Oxygen Bomb Calorimeter range, features higher speed, and improved accuracy with a small carbon footprint (it uses less resources; no water required, lower power consumption, and improved interfaces).

 

The Calorimeter is the main component in the complete oxygen bomb calorimeter system kit, and holds the sample to be analyzed. The calorimeter works together with the manual bayonet oxygen bomb vessel to contain the sample combustion and measure the heat of combustion in a speedy, but extremely accurate way.

CAL3K AIR COOLER

The new CAL3K Air Cooler takes a step towards a greener future. Using less resources, including electricity and water, to reduce your carbon footprint.

 

The Air Cooler replaces the traditional expensive water cooler used with the CAL2K range of calorimeters. It uses less resources, including no water and less electricity, to operate. The air cooler works with the ambient air to cool the vessel down, ready for the next determination. Best of all, the air cooler is extremely fast, efficient and affordable.

 

The air cooler is what it says - it needs not water, piping, or other resources. However, it has a much more defined operating characteristic - it does not work at room temperature or below. Or, in other words : it works best when the vessel is warmer than the ambient temperature (room temperature). Because of this, the vessel temperature cycles between 38°C - 48°C in a production environment, and between 28°C - 38°C for slower users. The air cooler has some intelligence built into it, and indicates the bomb temperature and when the vessel is ready to remove.

CAL3K MANUAL OXYGEN FILLING STATION

The manual oxygen filling station is manufactured completely in house, which saves on costs and results in a reduced final price. It is lightweight, making it a lot easier to transport from place to place if needed. It is a lot easier to handle and safe (user friendly). Being manufactured with different materials to those used before, makes it kinder to the environment (environmentally-friendly).

 

The manual filling station brings a fresh new look to the CAL3K-A Oxygen Bomb Calorimeter System and future systems that will require the manual oxygen filling station to fill the vessel for analyses. The Filling Station & High Pressure Oxygen Regulator are used in combination with the manual bayonet oxygen bomb vessel. The filling station is used to fill the manual bayonet vessel with oxygen before a determination. Prior to installing the Filling Station, please make sure you have a suitable high pressure oxygen regulator. The regulator should be a high pressure regulator, capable of filling a vessel to a pressure of 3000Kpa. This items should be sourced separately (please contact our team for more information).

MANUAL FILLING - OXYGEN BAYONET BOMB VESSEL

The traditional CAL2K bomb vessel has been replaced with a self-locking and sealing bayonet vessel with built-in temperature sensors. The vessel is completely removable for easy sample management, cooling, cleaning and maintenance.

 

The CAL3K bayonet vessel has a stainless steel body with a reduced mass (approx. 1.9kg) and a pressed on aluminium sleeve which acts as a heat sink and temperature equalizer. This sleeve performs the task of the traditional water and stirrer.

 

The oxygen bomb calorimeter and bomb vessel are operated together for effective routine sample determination - for optimal results and faster throughput use 2 or more vessels.

 

The sensors are embedded in the vessel walls. The electronics are located in the bottom of the vessel and are vacuum encapsulated to prevent any liquid or dust from entering. The lid has three bayonet claws, and is topped with a low heat conducting plastic handle, which allows easier handling of warm vessels.

INSTALLATION KITS

The complete CAL3K-A Oxygen Bomb Calorimeter System contains all the parts and consumables necessary to set up the unit. The installation kits included with the setup of the calorimeter contains consumables for approximately 200 samples, depending on the type of sample being analyzes (coal analysis, animal feed analysis). Other samples like oil might use more consumables as they are corrosive and could cause wear and tear. Additional consumables can be purchased separately (and in bulk quantities) from our authorized agents.

 

Installation kits for the calorimeter, air cooler, filling station and bomb vessel are included in the complete kit with your shipment, including any support guides required to get started with your system.
